The new paradigm in SMS & Mobile IM

Part 1. Instructions on downloading FeedelSMS from your mobile phone and using it

1. From the "menu" choice of your mobile, select Web. Almost all recent mobile phones have this feature enabled. All recent phones sold by Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile, China Mobile, TurkCell, etc have been tested. PDAs sold by Verizon Wireless have also been tested and verified.
2. Select the "Go to URL" option.
3. Once prompted for the site, type in "http://www.feedelix.com/download.php" .
4. This will bring up a new screen on your mobile with the following choices.

enFeedelSMS jad file - English SMS FeedelSMS jad file - Ethiopic SMS HindiSMS jad file - Hindi SMS

1. Navigate to the 'jad' file of your choice. The browser will then highlight it.
2. Accept the highlighted jad file and click on "OK". This will start downloading the software to your mobile phone.
3. The downloading should take only few seconds. Once the downloading is completed, you are promoted to start the application.
4. As soon as the software (FeedelSMS, enFeedelSMS or HindiSMS) is launched, you will be prompted to enter your phone number. This becomes your Feedelix ID or PIN. If you wish, you can enter any number with at least 4 digits as your Feedelix ID.
5. Save the setting to sign-up with the FeedeliX server.
6. You are now ready to go to the Editor and compose and send your SMS using Feedelix.

Part 2. Using HindiSMS Editor

1. Click on HindiSMS to launch the program. You will see the main menu
     
2. The first time you download the program, you will be asked to enter your name and phone number to complete the mobile part of the registration.
   
3. Click the Editor to start composing your SMS message. You can enter the destination number here. You also have a choice to add the number you just entered to your Address book which is also shared by your friends list (FriendsList). Click on OK to go to the Feedel editor.
   
4. From the main menu, click on Editor to go to Feedel Editor. HindiSMS uses a keyboard mapping that is a natural extension of the way Hindi (Devanagai) characters are grouped. In this scheme developed by Feedelix, the following classification is used. The editor always displays a picture at the bottom of the screen indicating the respective groups of characters.

   Vowels	Default	1,2,3,4,5,6
   Ka warg	Press shift key once.	1,2,3,4,5
   Ca warg	Press shift key twice.	1,2,3,4,5
   Ta warg	Press shift key three times.	1,2,3,4,5
   Tha warg	Press shift key four times.	1,2,3,4,5
   Pa warg	Press shift key five times	1,2,3,4,5
   Ya warg	Press shift key six times	1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
   Mantras	Press '9' key	Tap the '9' key as many times as desired to get to the mantra of choice. Eg., Tapping '9' three times takes you to the third mantra.
   Half-words	Press shift key to get to the warg family.	Tap '0' key followed by 1,2,3,4,5, etc to get to the desired half-word.

   
   
5. Let us now compose the Hindi word "Bharat".We first tap the 'shift' key five times to go to the 'pa warg' family of characters. Then, we tap key number '4' to pick the 'Bha' (भ) character.
   
6. The next character to be composed is the 'rha' 'र'. This requires that we tap key the 'shift' key six times to get to the 'ya warg' group and then tap the number '2' key.
   
7. The last character to be composed is the 't' (त) character. This requires that you tap 'shift' key four times to get to the 'ta warg' group. Then, you tap the number '1' key. With this, you will now have the complete word 'भरत'.
   
8. The message is now ready to be sent. Click on the "Choice' option to get to the screen shown below.
   
9. In this screen, click on "Send Message" button to send your HindiSMS message.
